1. Arthrities

For relief of arthritis we have found celery seed tea to be very helpful. It is recommended to drink 4 cups per day. The infusion is prepared like ordinary tea.  Just put celery seed into a coffee mug and pour in boiling water.

Arthritis is a joint inflammatory disorder which can affect any joint of the body. The affected joint becomes painful and inflamed. Most common types of arthritis are rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is a type of autoimmune disease whereas osteoarthritis is degenerative disease. The general symptoms involved with arthritis are swelling, joint pain, stiffness and loss of joint movement.

Although alternative therapies like home remedies, magnetic therapies etc. lessen the pain and other symptoms but doesn’t cure arthritis completely. There are large number herbs which effectively reduce the inflammation and chronic pain associated with arthritis. Here are some herbs which are commonly used in your day to day life and have therapeutic value also.

  • Celery (Apium graveolens): Different plant parts of celery contain at least 25 different anti-inflammatory compounds. Celery is also a rich source of minerals. In case of acute arthritis attack you can take celery seed tea. To prepare this tea you need to mix 1 teaspoon of celery seed and 1 cup of boiling hot water. Cover the mixture and allow it to stand for 15 minutes. Strain it and drink it.
    • Ginger (Zingiber officinale): Research study shows that ginger is highly beneficial in reduction of the swelling and pain. If you are suffering from osteoarthritis then you can try ginger tea or even ginger compress.
    • Mustard Plaster (Brassica alba): It acts as one of the most popular counter-irritant treatment for arthritis. You can use mustard seeds in the form of poultice. For this you have to crush the seed, moisten the grinded seeds with vinegar and then sprinkle little flour on it. Lastly on a cloth spread the mixture and use it as poultice on the affected area.
    • Oregano (Origanum vulgare): Oregano is one of the potent antioxidant. It contains a large amount of rosmarinic acid which has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. There are research evidences which shows that these properties of Oregano are beneficial in relieving from pain and inflammation associated with arthritis.

2. Bruises:

I have found to prevent and get rid of bruises quickly you should eat broccoli and pineapples. They both have enzymes in them that help in the healing and prevention of bruises.

I am not sure where I learned about this. I have known about this from my weight lifting days. I will try to find more information on this to post.

3. Cold Water Dousing -  Strengthening th Body

This requires pouring a bucket of ice-cold water over yourself. Preferably twice per day. The procedure is quite simple. Just fill up a 5 gallon bucket of ice water and pour it over your body starting at you chest and working it up over your head. By doing so this will stimulate and strengthen the body’s central nervous system and immune system. The body reacts to cold water by rapidly increasing the bodies’ temperature. It causes you to create a fever that last for less then a second. It’s like causing a mini –explosion inside your body raising your temperature to approximately 108 degrees. You will feel a surge of energy with a pleasant warm feeling. By raising your temperature with this mini-explosion, it will kill most bacteria or viruses that may be in your body.

It is best to perform the dousing procedure outside in any kind of weather. I have found that the colder outside the better it feels. Please note that this is not the same as taking a cold shower.

As Vladimir states in his book The Russian System Guide Book - cold is the most powerful stimulant in our metabolism. Nothing makes the body work faster than cold. It is the best way to mobilize our body’s reserves to pull together and fight weakness. Pouring cold water over your body causes your central nervous system to call upon each part of your body to work better and direct more energy to weaker areas.

For more info. - Please look up cold water dousing on the Internet. You will find plenty of web sites talking about this subject.

4. & 5. Contrast Bathing

Contrast Bathing, simply is the combination taking hot and cold baths. By exposing the body to the rapid effect of the alternating hot and cold environments aids blood circulation and metabolism. Toxins expelled by the body through excessive perspiration are washed away leaving the body health and refreshed.

Ice baths/contrast bathing (hydrotherapies)

Contrast bathing: Alternating hot and cold showers/baths provides an increase in blood flow to the working muscles and speeds the removal of lactic acid. Contrast bathing also stimulates the nervous system and helps to increase arousal, because the brain has to receive and recognise two different types of information (hot and cold).

  • Complete within 30 minutes of training/competition
  • Begin and end with cold
  • Repeat the alternations 3 to 4 times
  • Shower, cold 30 to 60 secs
  • Shower, hot 1 to 2 mins
  • Bath/spa, cold 30 to 60 secs
  • Bath/spa, hot 3 to 4 mins
  • Note: For injury recovery after 48 hrs of training.

Do the opposite of above. Begin and end with heat.

    ·         Repeat the alternations 4 to 5 times

    ·         Heat for 5 mins

    ·         Cold for 1 min

  •  baths (cryotherapy): Cold baths have primarily been used for their pain-relieving properties (2). But more recently the thinking is that when you plunge your body into a bath full of icy cold water, the blood vessels constrict and the blood will be drained away from the muscles that have been working (removing lactic acid). Once you get out of the bath the capillaries dilate and ‘new’ blood flows back to the muscles, bringing with it oxygen that will help the functioning of the cells. Recent research by Sam Erith at Loughborough University, UK, has shown that treatment with cryotherapy improves muscle function, reduces muscle damage and decreases soreness associated with DOMS.

7. Chelation:

“My people are dying from lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6

These words from the bible come to me as I write about how arteriosclerosis can be healed.

Arteriosclerosis is a term applied to a pathological condition in which there is thickening, hardening and loss of elasticity of the walls of blood vessels, especially the arteries: in short, it is hardening of the arteries.

Atherosclerosis takes place when arteries are blocked and the blood cannot pass through freely.

Long before it comes to a stroke and/or heart attack, the buildup in the arteries is there. It builds up over the years and arteriosclerosis is no longer a disease specific to senior citizens. Young men in their 30’s or younger show signs of trouble. Even women, who were thought to have immunity to arteriosclerosis, suffer more and more from this disease.

When physicians speak about arteriosclerosis, they compare this disease with the plague of the Middle Ages. The question is why are so many people plagued with the buildup of plaque in the arteries? Arteriosclerosis and atherosclerosis are two sides of the same coin. The first one is hardening of the elastic tube, the artery, and filling up these tubes with sludge and blood corpuscles.  Atherosclerosis is the fat deposits in and around the arteries, choking the passage of blood and bringing on complete stoppage. The final result of both can be a heart attack or a stroke.

The abnormal condition with its fatal consequences has caused much controversy and has been the plague of modern times. It has been the leading cause of death in our country since 1920. Scientists estimate that everyone over the age of 21 suffer to some extent from atherosclerosis and/or arteriosclerosis.

From the book Arteriosclerosis and Herbal Chelation by Hanna Kroeger

What is Chelation?

Chelation (pronounced key-LAY-shun) is the use of a chemical substance to bind molecules, such as metals or minerals, and hold them tightly so they can be removed from the body. Chelation has been scientifically proven to remove excess or toxic metals before they can cause damage to the body. It was first used in the 1940's by the Navy to treat lead poisoning.

The most common form of chelation therapy uses a man-made amino acid called EDTA (ethylene diamine tetra-acetic acid). EDTA removes heavy metals and minerals from the blood, such as lead, iron, copper, and calcium, and is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treating lead poisoning and poisoning from other heavy metals.

Although it is not approved by the FDA to treat arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), EDTA chelation is used by some physicians and alternative medicine practitioners to improve circulation and treat this disorder by removing calcium deposits and plaques from the arteries.

Popularity of this treatment is growing, however this use is still considered controversial among the medical community.

The National Institutes of Health is conducting a $30 million study to test whether EDTA chelation therapy and/or high-dose vitamin therapy is effective for the treatment of arterial disease.

8. Lyme disease

A treatment I found on the internet

A cumulative effect of much research has produced the possibility that salt and vitamin C may be all that is needed to beat this elusive illness. Without going into a lot of detail, our theory is that Lyme is not just a bacterial disease, but also an infestation of microfilarial worms. Bacteria, worms, internal mites and the possibility of other creatures have been quite horrifying. Ticks can transfer many types of pathogens into the body of their host. It is also possible that the tick could pick up a new pathogen and pass it on to their next host, explaining why Lyme patients have different types of organisms within their bodies. Shortly after starting the treatment, we were shocked by the presence of the worms. Microfilarial worms live symbiotically with bacteria. They protect the bacteria from being exterminated by the antibiotics. Our theory is that the microfilarial worm, though possibly a nematode, is a parasitic nematomorph which we name Paragordius Lyme Incorporehumani. The Lyme bacteria is Borrelia burgdorferi, named after Willy Burgdorfer.

From experimenting with the treatment of salt and vitamin C, we settled on a dosage of 3 grams of salt and 3,000 mg of vitamin C, each dose taken 4 times per day.Depending upon one's weight this would approximate one gram for each ten pounds of body weight. We think total daily dosage should not exceed 18 grams of salt or Vitamin C per day, and 15 grams would be the average adult's dosage for a full 24 hour period. If the pills cause a problem they can be crushed or dissolved in water. To get an idea of the dosage, one teaspoon equals 5 grams; thus, one tablespoon would equal 15 grams. Please remember to drink plenty of water. The brand of salt pill we use is CMC (Consolidated Midland Corporation), NDC#0223-1760-01, ordered through a pharmacy (no prescription required). The brand of salt is not important, only its purity; do not use salt with any additives, such as table salt. And the vitamin C used is a GNC product, though any good quality vitamin C pill should work. We have no relationship with either company.

The Treatment can be grueling; taking it with food may aid in digestion. The results should be almost instantaneous. The Herxheimer reaction is an excretion of toxins from dying organisms; this will be experienced. Diarrhea will occur as your body sheds itself of the pathogens. The die-off will occur in cycles. Try to stick with it; it is well worth the inconvenience. Remember to drink plenty of water. Water is an important factor, not just in keeping yourself hydrated, but to make sure the treatment is circulating through your entire body. Salt is an electrolyte which your body needs to function properly.
